An Indian lady, Anju, crossed the border on July 23 to marry her Pakistani companion Nasrullah. Her dad has now said that she was dead to them. Anju was already married while she was in India and had a 15-year-old girl and 6-year-old little son.

NEW DELHI: Anju, the married Indian woman and a mother of 1 girl and 1 boy, who had legally travelled to Pakistan via the Wagah-Attari border to meet her "Facebook friend", on Tuesday converted to Islam and married him. 34-year-old Anju, who is now Fatima, tied the knot with her 29-year-old Pakistani friend Nasrullahin a local court. Anju told the court that she had willingly come to Pakistan and was very happy. They became friends on Facebook in 2019.

According to police, the couple appeared in the district court in Dir Bala in the presence of family members of Nasrullah, police personnel and lawyers. Due to security reasons, the woman was escorted to her new in-law's home from court under police security.

I have nothing to do with her," said the father of Anju, who legally travelled to a remote village in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and converted to Islam before marrying her facebook lover Nasrullah. Following her conversion, she now goes by the name Fatima.

“She is dead to us. I don’t have any updates about her and she can do anything as we have nothing to do with her. I have not talked to Anju for the past one year. She had ruined the future of her two children and her husband, said her father Gaya Prasad,”

Anju’s husband Arvind crying and told the media in Rajasthan that she left home on Thursday saying that she was going to Jaipur but later the family came to know that she was in Pakistan. He said he was hopeful that she would return

‘Feeling safe in Pakistan’

Anju, who was born in Kailor town in Uttar Pradesh and lived in Alwar district of Rajasthan, shared a video before her marriage in which she says she "feels safe" in Pakistan, Geo News provided details regarding it on Tuesday.

"I need to give this message to all that I have come here legitimately and with arranging as it wasn't necessary to focus on two days. I'm protected here," she said in the video. "I demand all mediapersons not to disturb my family members and kids," she said. Anju is married to Arvind, who is in Rajasthan. They have a 15-year-old girl and a six-year-old son.
